Causes of Dry Skin in Children

Dry skin problems in children can be caused by several things, such as cold and dry air, sunburn, or exposure to chlorine in the water in swimming pools. In addition, bathing habits that are too long, using too much soap, or having an allergy to skincare products that are used, can also cause children’s skin to become dry and irritated. You can use Suu Balm Kids Dual Soothing & Moisturising Head-to-Toe Wash for your kids.

The following are some of the causes of a child’s skin becoming dry:

1. Lack of body fluid intake

The cause of a child’s skin becomes dry and dull can occur due to several reasons. The first cause that causes this condition is the lack of body fluid intake so that the body, especially the skin is not moist and healthy. Usually, children who experience fewer fluids are children who are not lacking in consuming water or fruit that has high water content.

2. Incorrect care of a child’s skin and often rubs the skin while bathing

One of caring for a child’s skin is to not accustom the child to provide nutrition for skin from the outside. one of them is the habit of using lotion or skin moisturizer after bathing or when needed as when swimming. The next cause is too often bathing and always rubbing the skin. This habit is actually a good habit so that the child’s body is completely clean and free of bacteria. Rubbing the skin using a scouring tool like a sponge turns out to cause friction on the skin which actually makes the child’s skin drier. Next is the selection of bath soap that has a high pH.

3. Environmental factors such as weather changes

Changes in weather will affect the humidity. Low-humidity air will easily cause the skin to become dry. Dry air usually occurs when the temperature gets colder and at that time the skin will usually get drier and quite crisp. At this time the child’s skin will usually experience white lines when scratched or commonly called scaly.
